Solapur: Bheema Cooperative Sugar mill will set up an ethanol plant as the need for biofuel is increasing in the market, said Dhananjay Mahadik, Chairman of the sugar mill.
He was speaking at the boiler-kickstart ceremony of the sugar mill at Takli Sikandar (Mohol Taluka) to commence the 43rd crushing operations.
Addressing the gathering he said, “The crushing season of the mill will start from October 15 and we are planning to produce electricity from the first day itself. Taking note of the rising demand for ethanol in the market due to the 20% ethanol blending programme launched by the Centre, we will start ethanol production at our mill.”
