Patna: The Bihar cabinet approved the much-awaited ethanol production promotion policy in its meeting held on Tuesday. According to the media reports, the cabinet took several decisions and the ethanol production promotion policy was one of the major decisions among these. The policy has been floated by state industries department headed by minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain.
“As per the policy sugarcane and maize will be used as inputs for ethanol production. The state has sugarcane and maize in abundance.” an official said.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Minister Shahnawaz had conducted several meetings to discuss the policy to increase ethanol production in the country. This will help to boost the farmers’ income and generate employment along with luring industries to invest in Bihar.
