Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the second ethanol unit at Motipur in Muzaffarpur district, reports The Times of India.
The capacity of the ethanol plant is 110 kilolitres per day and uses maize as raw material.
Around Rs, 152 crores have been spent to set up the plant which is likely to provide jobs for 700 youths.
Last year, the cm had inaugurated the first ethanol plant in the Purnia district having a capacity of 65,000 liters per day.
As many as 17 units have been granted permission to set up ethanol plants in the state.
Bihar is the first state in the country to launch an ethanol policy in 2021 under the National Policy of Biofuels, 2018.
