Riga: Sugarcane farmers and activists have decided to organise a farmers’ assembly on July 16 with the agenda of restarting the Riga sugar mill, reported Prabhat Khabar.
The decision was taken in a meeting of activists under the banner of the Sugarcane Producers Association held on Tuesday at the local Farmers’ Hall. The association’s president, Nagendra Prasad Singh presided over the meeting.
Recently, the newly elected MPs of Janata Dal (United) met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and discussed the issue of Riga sugar mill and other important work. During the meeting, MP Devesh Chandra draws the PM’s attention towards the reopening of the Riga sugar mill.
