Karnataka: Krishnanandan Paswan, the Minister of Sugarcane Industries Department of the Bihar government, recently visited sugar mill in Karnataka. The purpose of this visit was to inspect the production units operating in the region and to study modern techniques and successful models related to the development of the sugarcane industry. He was accompanied by JPN Singh, the Joint Cane Commissioner of the department.
He visited the state-of-the-art sugar mill established with latest technology by Nirani Group at Pandavapura in Karnataka. He held detailed discussions with the mill officials there on sustainable sugarcane farming, bio-refinery technology, and agricultural innovations. He observed the operations of modern processing units, energy efficiency measures, and product quality to identify potential benefits for Bihar.

Minister Paswan clarified that a work plan is being prepared to organize the jaggery industry in Bihar, establish modern machinery, provide training to farmers, and strengthen the marketing system. He also interacted with farmers to understand their experiences and expressed his desire to implement local success stories in Bihar.
On April 30th, the minister will also visit the surrounding sugarcane areas and sugar mills and will meet with sugarcane producers. This tour is a significant step towards empowering the sugarcane farmers of the state under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (Self-Reliant India Campaign).
