Patna: Just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Bihar’s capital, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad brought up Modi’s past promises to the people of the state. Lalu criticized Modi for not fulfilling his promises made during previous elections.
Lalu attacked Modi, questioning the benefits Bihar would receive from his actions. He referred to Modi’s 2014 election promise of opening sugar mills in the state and drinking tea made from sugar produced by them, which according to Lalu, remained unfulfilled.
Lalu alleged that Modi has not fulfilled any of his promises in the last decade. He mentioned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s plea to Modi for granting Central University status to Patna University, which went unheard.
The RJD leader emphasized that the people of Bihar are aware of Modi’s track record. Despite Bihar contributing 39 out of 40 Lok Sabha seats to Modi’s party, development primarily took place in Gujarat, not Bihar. Lalu accused Modi of favouring Gujarat over Bihar despite the latter’s long association with the NDA.
