Bihar: Sugauli sugar mill aims to crush 50 lakh quintals sugarcane this season

Motihari: The 2024-25 sugarcane crushing season at the Sugouli Sugar Mill in Motihari was officially started by District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal. During the ceremony, Deputy General Manager (Cane) Shailendra Kumar Mishra led the formal rituals. Several district officials, including Block Development Officer Nutan Kiran and Circle Officer Kundan Kumar, attended the event, reported Amar Ujala.

The management has set a target of crushing 5 million quintals of sugarcane in the next 150 days. General manager Vijay Kumar Dixit said that the mill would start its operations on November 9 so that the farmers could supply their crops well in time. This on-time beginning is making a noise among farmers who would be able to clear the fields after they have had the harvesting of sugarcane and commencement of planting winter crops, such as potatoes, pulses, and oilseeds.
