Bihar: There is no compulsion of reserve area for sugarcane farmers, says MP Sanjay Jha

Bagaha: Farmers can supply sugarcane to any sugar mill they choose. There is no obligation for sugarcane farmers to adhere to a reserve area.

These statements were made by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha during a press conference in Bagaha on Saturday. He stated that if any sugar mill harasses farmers under the pretext of reserve areas or purchases sugarcane from Uttar Pradesh, the government will take action against such mill owners.

Meanwhile, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Satish Chandra Dubey mentioned that farmers are troubled by the reduction in the weight of their sugarcane. He emphasized that the exploitation of farmers will no longer be tolerated. He assured that the benefits of Modi’s welfare schemes will reach the common people. “We are among the people in the name of development,” he said.

On this occasion, along with Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha, others present included JDU District President and MLC Bhishma Sahni, Valmiki nagar MLA Dhirendra Pratap Singh alias Rinku Singh, Bagaha MLA Ram Singh, former Bagaha MLA Prabhat Ranjan Singh, former MLC Rajesh Ram, as well as Rakesh Singh, Dayashankar Singh, and others.
