Bijnor: Dwarikesh Sugar Mill Bundki’s Chief General Manager (Cane Administration), Ramesh Parshrampuriya, inspected sugarcane crops in several villages and areas, including Kashiwala, Chakudaychand, Shahpur, Chapra, and Vijaypur, on Sunday, reported Live Hindustan.
He informed the sugarcane farmers that the current sugarcane variety, Co 0238, is rapidly being affected by the red rot disease, often referred to as the “cancer of sugarcane.”
The sugar mill is identifying fields affected by the disease. Farmers were advised to immediately and carefully remove and destroy the plants and stubs infected with the red rot disease to prevent its spread.
