Bijnor: The protest by farmers at the Bilai sugar mill in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, continued for the fifth day on Tuesday, reported Live Hindustan.
Farmers are demanding payment of outstanding sugarcane dues from the previous seasonand a change in the purchase center.
Sandeep Kumar, Chhotan Singh, and Vikas Chaudhary visited villages to mobilize support for a maha panchayat (grand assembly) to be held on Wednesday. They called on farmers not to supply sugarcane to the Bilai sugar mill.
Other farmers who participated in the protest include Vinod alias Bittu, Yogendra Singh, Rishi Pal Singh, Jagat Singh, Pitambar Singh, Vijaypal Singh, Vikas, Gyanendra, Rohit Rana, and Rajesh.
