Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Cane scientists, along with officials from Uttam Sugar Mill, toured several villages to inform farmers about protecting their crops and preventing diseases affecting sugarcane. The team toured villages connected with the Barakatpur Gate area of Uttam Sugar Mill, including among others Harchandpur, Tisotra, Mahmasapur, Kamrajpur, Fazalpur, Ganjalpur, Bahadurpur Jat and Kabulpur, reported Live Hindustan.
During the visit, Sugarcane Research Council, Muzaffarnagar scientist Surendra Pratap Singh made farmers aware about the red rot disease.
Singh also highlighted other diseases affecting the crops of sugarcane and shared their preventive measures with the farmers. Among others, Sugarcane General Manager Vikas Pundeer and Senior Cane Manager Chandvir Singh attended the event.
