Bijnor: The sugarcane crushing season at Dwarikesh sugar mill is likely to end soon, as the supply of sugarcane to mills has declined, reported Live Hindustan.
According to mill management, the Dwarikesh sugar mill in Bahadurpur village, which is located near the city of Afzalgarh, is facing a shortage of sugarcane. The mill has been receiving less than half of its daily requirement of sugarcane for the past few days.
As a result, the mill is likely to end its crushing season early this year. The mill’s crushing season usually ends in April, but it could end as early as March if the supply of sugarcane does not improve.
The mill management has appealed to farmers to supply their sugarcane to the mill as soon as possible.
