Bijnor: The sugar mills in the district are continuously crushing sugarcane to complete the available cane in the fields. There were rumours making round stating that the mills will discontinue crushing in midway. The officials associated with the sugar mills have cleared that the rumours are baseless.
Paropkar Singh, sugarcane general manager of Bilai sugar mill said the farmers need not to worry. We will complete the crushing of all available cane. We will purchase cane from villagers residing in hotspot areas as well.”
Pravin Singh, sugarcane general manager of Chandpur sugar mill, said, ‘Mill has not sent any notice regarding closure to sugarcane farmers or sugarcane department. We will continue operations.’
