Bijnor: Sugar mills in Bijnor are facing a shortfall in sugarcane supply, impacting their operational efficiency. Farmers are not delivering the full quantity of sugarcane as per the issued indents (Ganna Parchi), leading to frequent disruptions in the crushing process, reported Amar Ujala.
Around four thousand farmers in one sugarcane committee alone have been identified who have supplied sugarcane only on two or three Indents. According to departmental data, sugar mills in the district crushed 5.46 lakh quintals of sugarcane on Friday, and so far, all ten sugar mills have processed 849.60 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
According to the District Sugarcane Officer, P.N. Singh, there are many farmers in the ongoing Indents who have initially supplied sugarcane on a few Indents and then stopped. All sugar mills are operational.
