Binny New Re Energy plans to set up grain-based distillery in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Binny New Re Energy is mulling to establish a grain-based distillery facility in Singathakurichi village in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu, reports Projects Today.

The upcoming unit will have the capacity to produce 195 kiloliters per day (klpd) of ethanol and will also involve setting up a five-megawatt (MW) co-generation power plant.

The project is awaiting environmental clearance (EC) from the authorities. Binny New Re Energy expects to begin work on the project by November 2023 and complete it by April 2025.

The project is expected to create employment opportunities for around 1,000 people during the construction phase and 200 people once it is operational.
