Biogas sector receives investment commitments of more than Rs 200 crore at RenewX 2025

The biogas sector has secured investment commitments over Rs 200 crore at RenewX 2025, a renewable energy event, according to the Indian Biogas Association (IBA).

The three-day exhibition, held from April 23 to 25 at the Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam, witnessed investment commitments worth Rs 200 crore in the biogas sector through several memorandums of understanding (MoUs), according to a statement by the Indian Biogas Association (IBA). The event was organised by Informa Markets.

RenewX served as a convergence point for stakeholders from bioenergy, solar, wind, energy storage, and energy management sectors, encouraging strategic partnerships and forward-looking discussions.

Highlighting innovations in bioenergy, sustainable collaborations, and policy engagement, the event drew interest from industry professionals, investors, and government representatives, the statement noted.

“This is the first time that we have showcased biogas sector capabilities in Chennai. Our interactions here have laid the groundwork for several new collaborations and have deepened interest in bioenergy solutions, especially in southern India,” said IBA Chairman Gaurav Kedia.

IBA President A R Shukla added, “RenewX 2025 showcased a unique blend of technology, grassroots innovation, and policy alignment. It is clear that bioenergy can play a pivotal role in reshaping India’s energy future especially when supported by the right regulatory and financial ecosystem”
