New Delhi: Industrialist Rahul Bajaj recently created controversy after in an event organized by the Times Group he told Home Minister Amit Shah that people are afraid to criticize the government. Shah dismissed his apprehensions and said how his fears are unfounded.
But amid all of this now Bajaj is surrounded by some questions. It has been alleged that sugar mills owned by Bajaj family owe Rs 10,000 crore to sugarcane farmers.
Ajay Mishra, BJP MP from Kheri in Uttar Pradesh made the revelation that out of 10 mills in his region, three belong to Bajaj family which have not paid arrears to the farmers. This may be the reason for BajaJ to fear from the government, he said.
The opposition had started targeting government using Bajaj’s statement, and a section of media also focussed on the ‘atmosphere of fear’ narrative of Bajaj and criticized the government.
