Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh: Varun Gandhi, BJP MP representing the Pilibhit seat slammed the state government for not announcing the state-advised price (SAP) of sugarcane for the ongoing crushing season, reports The Times of India.
He was speaking at a rally organized in Bamrauli village of Bisalpur Tehsil circle on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “Farmers have supplied around 80% of their cane crop to the sugar mills but the government has not yet fixed the SAP. The mills have held the cane payment due to this and farmers do not have money to feed their families and bear expenses of their children’s education apart from agriculture-related costs.”
