Najibabad: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of BKU have threatened to launch an agitation if the Najibabad sugar mill fails to clear cane dues in time, reports Amar Ujala.
The decision was taken in a monthly meeting of BKU organized recently. It was organized by members of the BKU and the sugarcane farmers.
Addressing the meeting, BKU block president Avnish Kumar said that the expenses on irrigation are increasing due to soaring heat and farmers are unable to meet their daily expenses due to lack of funds. Even after mill has ended the crushing operations, farmers are yet to recieve the cane dues.
He appealed to the farmers to attend the meeting of BKU scheduled at Haridwar on June 16.
