Amroha, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union launched sit-in agitation outside a sugar mill for their pending cane arrears. The agitation was called off after the officials from the sugar mill agreed to clear the pending cane arrears in stipulated time.
Farmers asked sugar mill to clear the cane dues with interest. Sugarcane farmers claim due to pending cane arrears, it has become difficult for them to meet their daily needs.
The administration is monitoring the cane payment and asked the sugar mills in the state to clear the cane dues or be ready to face the action. Sugar mill claim due to coronavirus and low sugar sales, they are suffering from the financial crisis and are unable to clear the cane dues.
