Meerut: Women’s wing of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) organised a panchayat in Sisauli (Muzaffarnagar) on Thursday and they discussed their role in the agitation during the meeting, reports Hindustan Times. The women activists decided to support the ongoing agitations of farmers.
Addressing the gathering, BKU leader Babli Tyagi raised the issue of pending cane dues and demanded that the sugar mills should release dues on time.
“Women will participate in the agitation against the mills for pending cane dues,” she said.
The women activists have been urged to participate in the forthcoming agitation organised by BKU on November 26 in Lucknow.
