Noida: Farmers’ Mahapanchayat has threatened to launch an agitation if the government fails to fulfil the promises made during polls.
The decision was taken in the meeting organised by a faction of Bhartiya Kisan Union (non-political) at Bijnor on Tuesday.
According to the office bearers, BKU (non-political) raised issues pertaining to sugar mills, pending sugarcane dues among others during the ‘kisan mahapanchayat’
As per news report published by PTI, Digamber Singh, BKU (non-political) leader said, “During recent assembly elections, the BJP had promised relief to farmers but the UP government has not delivered on them yet.”
“We will launch an agitation if the government fails to fulfil the promises made during the polls,” he said while adressing hundreds of farmers at the Bijnor mahapanchayat.
