BKU (Rakshak) demands timely payment of sugarcane arrears to farmers before Diwali

Deoband, Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh): The National President of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Rakkshak), Virendra Ohlan, has urged that farmers should receive their pending sugarcane payments before Diwali, reported Live Hindustan.

He stated that this would allow farmers, who are the backbone of the nation, to celebrate the festival with their families. Speaking at a meeting in Kheda Mugal on Sunday, Ohlan highlighted that due to unpaid dues, farmers are facing severe financial difficulties, making it challenging for them to enjoy the festive season.

Ohlan emphasized that the government should ensure that farmers receive their outstanding payments before Diwali so they can join in the celebrations. He warned that if these issues are not addressed, a meeting would be held at the District Magistrate’s office on November 15 to raise their concerns. Present at the meeting were State President Ankur Manik, Ramkumar, Sheeshpal, Jitendra Pradhan, Kaleem, Abdul Salam, Aftab, Abhishek, Gajendra, and Sunil Shastri.
