Amroha: BKU Shankar has decided to launch a protest for demanding pending cane dues with the sugar mills, according to amarujala.
A meeting of farmers was organized by the organization at Kafurpur on Monday to decide the issue of pending cane dues. Chaudhari Divakar Singh, national president of the organization said, “More than four months have passed since the closure of Wave sugar mill Dhanaura but the mill has not yet cleared the cane dues of farmers.
If the mill fails to clear all the pending cane dues then the farmers will be forced to sell their cane to another sugar mill next season, he said.
District unit head Satpal Singh said that the sugar mills should pay Rs 450 per quintal to the cane farmers from next season.
