Basti, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union launched sit-in agitation outside the gate of Vikas Bhavan on Wednesday. The agitation was called off after the government officials assured them that the sugar mills would clear the pending cane arrears by October 31.
According to the news report published in Amarujala.com, Subhash Chandra Kisan, Divisional president of BKU said, “Sugar mills have yet not cleared the pending cane arrears. We want our dues to be cleared in time.”
