Hapur, Uttar Pradesh: Expressing strong displeasure over not receiving payment for their sugarcane, Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) workers warned of a major agitation, reported Live Hindustan.
On Monday, a monthly panchayat was organized at the camp office located at Garh Choupala, presided over by Tehsil In-charge Sudesh Kumar and conducted by Tehsil Vice President Billu Tyagi. They discussed the issue of pending cane dues during the meeting.
District President Dinesh Kheda stated that despite the sugar mill’s crushing session ending months ago, farmers are facing severe financial difficulties due to the non-payment of their sugarcane.
He warned that after the conclusion of the Haridwar Chintan Shivir, BKU would launch a major movement addressing not only the pending sugarcane payments but also other issues affecting farmers and the general public.
