Brazil keen to forge agricultural partnership with Punjab

Ambassador Kenneth H. Da Nobrega, Brazil’s Ambassador to India, expressed Brazil’s eagerness to collaborate with Punjab in agriculture, particularly in developing resilient crop varieties, genetic materials for dairy farming, cotton production, solar energy, and ethanol use. Additionally, he highlighted the potential for collaboration in higher education and research. The Ambassador met with Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit to discuss these opportunities on Monday.

During the meeting, Governor Purohit assured his support to strengthen bilateral ties and explore avenues of cooperation between Brazil and Punjab. He underscored India’s significant economic transformation in the past decade, positioning it as an attractive destination for investors. Governor Purohit expressed Punjab’s keenness to attract Brazilian investment and cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships.

In response, Ambassador Da Nobrega conveyed Brazil’s keen interest in exploring opportunities for cooperation and investment in Punjab. He mentioned the establishment of an official working group dedicated to fostering dialogue and exploring concrete collaboration possibilities across various sectors. Governor Purohit, displaying enthusiasm for potential partnerships, reiterated the state’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investment and collaboration.
