Brazil’s sugar production surges in second half of September: Unica

Unica’s latest report, released on Tuesday, shows a surge in Brazil’s Center-South sugar production for the second half of September, showing a 98% year-on-year increase, reaching 3.364 million metric tons (MMT). Moreover, sugar output for the 2023/24 crop year through September saw a substantial year-on-year rise of 23.8%, amounting to 32.615 MMT.

Also, 49.54% of the crushed sugarcane was used for sugar production this year, an increase from 45.46% last year.
