Shillong: Troops from the 172 Battalion BSF in Meghalaya stopped a vehicle that was carrying a large amount of sugar intended for smuggling into Bangladesh, reported The Times of India.
According to BSF officials on Wednesday, they also arrested two Indian citizens near the Kuliang border area in East Jaintia Hills.

The BSF troops acted on specific information and intercepted a vehicle loaded with 13,000 kilograms of sugar. The vehicle was coming from Kalain in Assam’s Cachar district and heading towards the Kuliang border area. However, when questioned, both the driver and co-driver couldn’t provide any valid documents related to the sugar shipment, as stated by a spokesperson at the BSF Meghalaya Frontier Headquarters in Shillong on Wednesday.
