Shillong: On Monday, the Border Security Force (BSF) and local police stopped smugglers at the Indo-Bangladesh border in South Garo Hills. They found a huge amount of sugar, more than 44,000kg, in six vehicles.
As per media report, during the first operation, BSF troops noticed something suspicious at the border and acted quickly. They found 790 bags of sugar and arrested four smugglers from Goalpara, Assam.

In another operation, BSF and police stopped two vehicles carrying 94 bags of sugar. All the seized sugar and arrested people were handed over to Rongra Police Station for legal action.
