Bulandshahar: Sugar mills in the district are getting ready to start crushing operations next month as the cane crop in the district will be ready for crushing. The repair work of the mills is in the final stage. Four mills have completed 70% repair work. Wave Sugar Mill in Bulandshahr will be the first mill to start operations as the mill officials have stated to the cane department it would start operations by October 27, reported Live Hindustan.
The process for allocating purchase centres to sugar mills will begin in October. All sugar mills have completed payments to farmers. Among the districts in the Meerut division, this district has led in sugarcane payments. Anamika sugar mill in Agota is set to begin crushing on November 1, Sabitgarh mill on November 4, and Anoopshahr mill on November 3.
The repair work is being inspected and reviewed by the District Cane Officer (DCO), and reports are being sent to higher authorities. According to the department, the crushing season will be initiated based on the dates provided by the sugar mills. The repair work is now in its final phase.
Anil Kumar Bharti, District Cane Officer said, “The repair work in the sugar mills is in its final stages. The mills have provided dates for the crushing season. Daily reviews of the repair progress are being conducted, and the crushing season will begin according to government guidelines.”
