A good move by the Cane Department to issue Khandsari license online within a stipulated time of 100 hours. It will reduce redtapism and smoothen process. UP is the largest cane producing state in the state, so it must adopt swifter digitalisation and industry friendly measures, earliest the best.
To think of development of an agrarian state like UP away from agriculture is far fetched. Sugarcane has immense potential to change developmental face of the state. For this to happen we must seek opinions of all stake holders-canegrowers,industry experts and people those have domain expertise in the field.
For this to happen department needs to change its position from controller of sugar economy to facilitator of growth in sugarcane field. Since, it is these players who are the front warrior,so if we listen them it would be a win win proposition for all.
