Bijnor: Sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh are in the last phase of the crushing season. Many mills have already concluded its season, while many will close it soon. Recently, Chandpur sugar mill successfully completed its crushing season.
According to the news report published in Live Hindustan, sugar mill crushed 66,44,000 quintal sugarcane this season. Whereas in the last season, the mill had crushed 56,20,000 quintal sugarcane during last season.
District sugarcane officer Yashpal Singh said, sugar mill registers sugar recovery of 11.64 per cent this season, whereas in the last it was 11.63 per cent.” During last season the mill closed operations on May 10.
According to officials from the mill, all the employees and the cane harvesters and farmers followed the social distance and cooperated the sugar mill to continue operations amid the Covid-19 threat. The mill had followed all the norms issued by the government and had taken precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
