Mathura: The hopes of restarting the Chhata sugar mill have increased with the opening of the technical bid for the tender process. The financial bid is expected to be opened soon, paving the way for the commencement of the mill’s renovation and modernization, reported Amar Ujala.
Concerned about the decreasing sugarcane area in the district, the authorities have taken proactive measures. High-quality sugarcane seeds have been procured from Hapur and Bulandshahr to promote sugarcane production. These initiatives are being undertaken in anticipation of the mill’s revival.
Once the financial bids are opened, the reconstruction work for the sugar mill will commence. This development is poised to bring significant relief to sugarcane farmers in the district. Post-cultivation, farmers will no longer need to travel outside the city to sell their produce, as the entire crop yield will be crushed within the sugar mill.
