Raipur: Sugarcane farmers not only in Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh have intensified their protests over sugarcane dues, but also the issue is escalated in Chhattisgarh. Now, the sugarcane farmers gained support from the political party.
Threatening to launch an agitation, leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik said the BJP MLAs would protest if cane arrears of Kawardha farmers will not be paid. Addressing a special assembly session organised on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, he said, “The farmers are not getting their dues despite agitation. If the government fails to pay arrears of Kawardha farmers, BJP MLAs will organise the hunger strike.”
