Chhattisgarh: Ethanol plant to be set up at Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory

Raipur: To strengthen the financial condition of sugar mills and cut oil imports, the Government is emphasising on ethanol production. Following which, an ethanol plant will be set up in Chhattisgarh’s Kawardha district.

As per the report, an ethanol plant is to be set up soon on public–private partnership (PPP) model at the Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory. This will not only help the sugar factory to increase the revenue but also it will generate employment opportunities and will financially benefit sugarcane farmers.

To give final approval for the ethanol plant, a meeting of the public-private partnership appraisal committee (PPPAC) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary R.P. Mandal was held at Mahanadi Bhawan (Secretariat) on Thursday.

The committee recommended the setting up of the plant by approving the financial tender and also approved the draft contract with the investor.
