Kawardha, Chhattisgarh: Farmers who sold sugarcane to the Bhoramdev cooperative sugar mill in Chhattisgarh will receive a bonus, reported Dainik Bhaskar.
The bonus will be paid to 11,836 shareholders at the rate of Rs 72.88 per quintal. The total sugarcane purchased from these farmers in the previous season was 31,19,100.72 quintals.
The bonus will be paid after the mill receives a letter from the Chhattisgarh government,. Farmers have been assured that the payment will be made within 15 days.
The mill has also begun the process of transferring shares to farmers who have been requesting it for a long time. Shareholder nominees are being asked to fill out forms so that they can become beneficiaries of their shares. However, the shares will only be transferred after the government gives its approval.
