Aurangabad, May 13 (UNI) Days after the district guardian minister toured the drought affected district to take stock of situation, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis has now directed all the districts guardian secretaries to oversee implementation of drought relief works being undertaken to tackle the severe drought situation in Maharashtra.
Mr Fadanvis, in a statement asked all guardian secretaries to tour their respective drought affected district and check out the ongoing measures and speed up the works including providing drinking water to affected villages, start fodder camps for cattle and give work under MNREGA scheme. He has directed all the secretaries to submit their detailed report to him by May 21.
Mr Fadanvis has also been interacting with drought affected district administration’s top officials including collectors CEOs of ZP and village Sarpanchs through Audio bridge conferencing from Mumbai. So far Mr Fadanvis has held interaction with drought affected Aurangabad, Jalna, Osmanabad, Beed, Parbhani, Solapur, Dhule, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon and Buldhana districts collectors.
It may noted that Mr Fadanvis had written to Election commission for relaxation of model code of conduct in the state, to undertake measures for tackling the severe drought situation. EC has also given green signal to state government in this regards.
