Amid ongoing Coronavirus challenges, Coca-Cola is planning to cut 2200 jobs worldwide including 1200 in the US as part of a restructuring plan.
The company plans to reduce 2.5% of its total workforce that involves the voluntary buyouts and layoffs, said a spokesperson of the company. As many as 86,200 employees were working with the company including 10,400 in the US at the beginning of this year.
“We are planning to build the work structure that will increase the productivity of the company as well as the efficiency of the workers. The pandemic is not the reason for making changes,” said the company official.
