Karimnagar, Telangana: The state government should take steps to reopen the closed Muthyampet sugar mill, said Congress Korutla Assembly constituency in-charge Juvvadi Krishna Rao, reports Deccan Chronicle.
Rao has stated that the sugarcane farmers would organise padayatra on the 22nd of each month to pressurize the government to revive the sugar mill. As a part of the campaign, he launched a Padayatra from Muthyampet village panchayat to the sugar mill and staged a dharna. The farmers later burned an effigy of the BRS government demanding the mill’s revival.
