With the rising demand of hand sanitizers owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and inclusion “Hand Sanitizers” as an Essential Commodity under the Essential Commodities Act up to 30th June, 2020; sugar millers across the country took forefront to fulfill the requirement.
According to reports, 20 sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh have been issued license to produce hand sanitizers. The sugar mills altogether will be producing 38,054 liters of sanitizer on a daily basis.The sugar mills producing sanitizers include Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd, Bajaj Hindustan Sugar Ltd, DCM Shriram Ltd, Dalmia Bharat Sugar Mills Ltd, Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd, KM Sugar Ltd, Awadh Sugar and Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd.
