Mumbai: The Pune based headquarters of Gopinathrao Munde Sugarcane Workers Welfare Corporation set up for the welfare of sugarcane workers become operational, reports Uniindia.
Dr Prashant Naranvare, Managing Director of Corporation met the sugarcane workers busy in harvesting cane in the vicinity of Mahesh Sugar Factory, Beed and discussed their problems.
Government implements several schemes through this corporation for the welfare of sugarcane workers. Identify certificates are also issued to them to ensure that the benefits reach them.
The social welfare department has recently decided to set up a government hostel for them in the state.
