Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were steady to weak
Domestic sugar prices in the major markets were reported stable to weak with prices quoting lower by Rs 5-10 per quintal in Maharashtra and Karnataka and steady sentiments witnessed over Uttar Pradesh and other North Indian states. According to market participants, demand is need based despite lower quota which is keeping prices in a rangebound movement over the last 8-10 sessions.
S-grade sugar in Kolhapur ranges in price from Rs 3,780 to Rs 3,830 per quintal, whereas M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar costs between Rs 4,020 and Rs 4,070.

International Market
At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $544.80 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 19.16c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 450-4 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.80000s
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 85.273whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.6918 Crude WTI traded at $66.90 barrel. Sensex closed 322.08 points down at 76295.36 whereas Nifty closed 82.25 points lower at 23250.10
