Domestic sugar prices reported to be lower

Following higher trading in the previous sessions, sugar prices were reported to be lower in the major markets. Prices have dropped by Rs 10–20 per quintal. It is said that there is weak demand in all of the major markets, which is driving up prices. All around the nation, crushing is proceeding smoothly, and only about three mills have closed this season compared to five last year.

S-grade sugar in Kolhapur was reported to be between Rs 3,470 and Rs 3,540 per quintal, while M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar ranged between Rs 3,770 and Rs 3,840 per quintal. Agrimandi predicts that over the next two weeks, the price of S grade sugar in Kolhapur markets will range between Rs 3,450 and Rs 3,560 per quintal. Prices per quintal in Solapur, however, were said to vary from Rs 3,380 to Rs 3,430.
