Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were stable.
After a continuous drop, domestic sugar prices were said to be stable in the major markets. Although prices have been in a downtrend for the past month, demand is said to be sluggish. Prices in spot markets are weighed down by good crop conditions in the major growing regions.
M-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,780 and Rs 3,820 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, whereas S-grade costs between Rs 3,585 and Rs 3,635 in Kolhapur. Agrimandi expects S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur to fall between Rs 3,530 and Rs 3,680 per quintal in the coming days.

International Market
At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $543.80 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 19.44 c/lb.
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 83.951 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.5429, Crude futures traded at ₹5875, Crude WTI traded at $69.91 barrel. Sensex closed 1017.23 points lower at 81183.93.
