Domestic Market

Domestic sugar prices continue to trade weak

Sugar prices in the major domestic market have remained low due to lower demand. Today, prices in the major markets of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka fell by Rs 10-20 per quintal. In the short to medium term, the start of the crushing campaign is likely to keep prices stable.

S-grade sugar traded between Rs. 3,630 and Rs. 3,670 per quintal in Kolhapur, whereas M-grade sugar ranged between Rs. 3,930 and Rs. 3,960. According to Agrimandi.live, S grade sugar will trade for between Rs 3,600 and Rs 3,720 in Kolhapur markets over the next two weeks.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $769.00 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 28.10 c/lb.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 83.264 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 4.8815, Crude futures traded at ₹6627, Crude WTI traded at $79.33 barrel. Sensex closed 16.29 points lower at 64942.40 whereas Nifty ended 5.05 points lower at 19406.70
