Domestic Market

Domestic sugar prices quoted stable

Domestic sugar prices in major markets have been reported to be stable on good demand. According to market sources, demand is strong, with prices remaining at a one-and-a-half-month high.

S-grade sugar in Kolhapur costs between Rs 3,430 and 3,480 per quintal, whereas M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar costs Rs 3,860 to 3,920. Agrimandi.live predicts that the price of Kolhapur S-grade sugar will fall between Rs 3,380 and Rs 3,500 per quintal in the near future.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $485.70 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 18.49 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 474-6 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.68000s

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 86.542 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 6.1073, Crude WTI traded at $77.16 barrel. Sensex closed 169.62 points up at 76,499.63 whereas Nifty closed 90.10 points higher at 23,176.05
