Domestic sugar prices were stable to higher
Prices for sugar in the major U.S. markets were said to be stable to going up. Prices stayed the same in Maharashtra and Karnataka, but went up by 10 to 20 rupees per quintal in Uttar Pradesh and other North Indian markets. Prices are at their lowest level in two months, but demand is said to be low. But because it’s been warmer in North India, demand has been good for the last two or three sessions.
An acre of S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,760 and Rs 3,810 in Kolhapur. An acre of M-grade sugar costs between Rs 4,000 and Rs 4,070 in Muzaffarnagar.
