Domestic Market
A downtrend continued in domestic sugar prices
Sugar prices are falling due to weak demand following a sharp increase and have fallen by Rs 80-120 per quintal from the recent high. Domestic sugar prices in major markets are reported to be lower by Rs 20 per quintal. Resale rates were reported to be lower, but mill quotes did not decrease. Additionally, no more mills have closed the operation in Maharashtra, which is weighing on the prices.
Sugar exports are typically priced between Rs 42,000 and 44,000 per MT. And low-quality whites will be in parity up to $460 per MT. S-grade sugar in Kolhapur ranges between Rs 3,690 and 3,750 per quintal, while M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar costs between Rs 3,980 and 4,030.
