Sugar prices steady on good demand
Sugar prices in major markets remained stable due to strong demand, despite light trading activity. Prices in Kolhapur’s major markets (S grade) remained stable in the Rs 3,385-3,440 range, while Muzaffarnagar (M grade) prices fell by Rs 10-20 per quintal, ranging from Rs 3,640 to Rs 3,660.
According to Agrimandi.live, prices are expected to trade stable to firm due to strong demand. In the near future, prices in the Kolhapur markets are expected to trade near Rs 3,480 per quintal, with a support level of Rs 3,360 per quintal. Stagnant monsoon movement over the last 8-9 days is expected to support prices in the coming week.
However, rainfall activity is expected to increase beginning in the third week of June, with forecasts indicating moderate to heavy rains over major cane growing belts.
